“Obama’s health care proposal is, in effect, the repeal of the Medicare program as we know it. The elderly will go from being the group with the most access to free medical care to the one with the least access. Indeed, the principal impact of the Obama health care program will be to reduce sharply the medical services the elderly can use. No longer will their every medical need be met, their every medication prescribed, their every need to improve their quality of life answered.
It is so ironic that the elderly – who were so vigilant when Bush proposed to change Social Security – are so relaxed about the Obama health care proposals. Bush’s Social Security plan, which did not cut their benefits at all, aroused the strongest opposition among the elderly. But Obama’s plan, which will totally gut Medicare and replace it with government-managed care and rationing, has elicited little more than a yawn from most senior citizens.
It’s time for the elderly to wake up before it is too late!” ….

Last week we had old friends from Wales visiting. Paul is a dentist who primarily does NHS work. Our conversations were a great deal focused on his practice and the NHS deliveries. My feelings are doubled against any such national plan after listening to what the NHS in the UK does. It is such a lengthy issue that I don’t even have the time to detail it all. Paul, by the way, is an advocate of the NHS deliveries so I was not receiving a negative bias from him. Couple of issues:
Paul fulfills his contract with the NHS 3-4 months early in the year so has no reason to work after that. He wouldn’t be paid for his work.
He has a dentist fresh out of dental school each year as his 4th dentist in his practice (Paul owns the practice). That young one works for Paul for free and the NHS pays Paul about $1700 per month to have that dentist, who can produce all but about 40% of the services that Paul can. In other words, he has a 4th dentist working there, for which he earns fees but is actually paid to hire him/her. Logical? I think not.
Protocols are such that if a filling is done, he is paid for that service but if that patient is at risk for something related to that filling, he isn’t paid for watching the patient or doing further work. The patient goes without. In Paul’s case, he follows the patient for free but that certainly is not true of all dentists.
Lab work (bridges, crowns, etc.) are done according to standards set by the NHS – Chevrolet work only, Paul says. You want quality, you have to go for private pay care, as we would assume.
He needs a 5th dentist. His contract only allows for 4. He cannot renegotiate the contract so will not hire a 5th. He couldn’t charge for the services of that 5th dentist or more accurately, can’t get “points” for the work that dentist would do. Paul would assume all expenses and get no income. Can’t even do it in the future because there is no money for it in the NHS coffer. I could go on and on.

Dear Dick,
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your
hard work and dilagence at stopping this health care
bill. I am newly retired and have yet to access the medicare system. I am a retired school teacher and I believe I, too, am a veteran. I have taught for 43 years
and all those years I have contributed to and supported my government. I love my country, and I am saddened
to think that the most vulnerable part of our society will be at risk. The seniors have contributed so much of their vitality to a country they loved and to think that
they will be cast out and comprimised is horrifying…
retired doctors, nurses, teachers, fireman, policeman just to name a few, all who have given a piece of themselves to our nation as well as its people. Please
keep working and speaking out for the more vulnerabe
people. Let me know what I might do to help in this
fight. I am from Washington State. It is not a
conservative state.
Sincerely,
Judy Ballantyne

PART OF A SIX PAGE OPEN LETTER TO THE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE
Madam speaker, is it not despicable for you, the Speaker of the House, to call Americans un-American along with other comments as you have? These Americans were using their God given right for their freedom of speech. Their concern was about the Health care bill which our Government is attempting to cram down the throats of the American people. Furthermore, was Hilary not un-American when she yelled very loud about the Bush administration or any administration for that matter? What about the name calling when Bush was President? Not one of you came to his defense… Are you not the un-Americans which are taking our Country down the wrong road? Are you not the ones who come across to be the mean spirited ones, when others do not agree with you?
The First Amendment of the United States Constitution is very clear about the right for freedom of speech. Surely, you must not agree with this Amendment except when it comes to the name calling on your part.
Last year during the oil crisis, I informed you that all one had to do in order to
destroy our Country was to destroy the economy. Washington is doing this before our very eyes. I also said, what is next, one world order, dictatorship, marshal’s law, third world country?
Washington is unable to manage the Post Office, Social Security Medicare, or the Budget and now want to add Health care to the list. The Health Care Bill has over a thousand pages and few seem to understand or even know what is in the bill. Would you sign a contract without reading it.
This so-called Health Care Bill the far left wants is nothing less than a dictatorship of the Medical Health Care Profession.
WE THE PEOPLE” need to wake up and realize Washington is not able to manage much of anything including what I already mentioned…So the next best thing is control the people with some forty plus Czars and so-called National civilian police force, that don’t wear uniforms. In Russia they were called the KGB. Putin is still hard a nose KGB. Germany also had them, as all dictators do.
Russia had Czars and this is how they operated.
An intelligence force operating both internally and externally was not unprecedented in Russian society. Most of the CZARS had some sort of secret police force for keeping tabs on suspected troublemakers and prominent citizens. US civilian police in plain clothes why???
WAKE UP AMERICA. The President has mentioned the need of National civilian police! You may check this out at You Tube. It was on July 2008.
There are many on both sides which care only about power and their egos. What ever happen to “WE THE PEOPLE” and our Constitution? I believe MANY will be leaving Washington starting with the next elections. The American people are fed up and speaking up as well! Washington has failed the American people far too
long. It is time for the American People to Change Washington! Not Washington Changing “WE THE PEOPLE”
It appears Washington has forgotten whom their accountable too.
God Bless America and our Military!
