Once again down the slippery slope of stupidity. It appears the A.G. does not know the laws he is dealing with, and has to research each case.
What is the purpose of having a criminal trial in this case. If the Government does get a conviction and likes the sentence all is well and good. However, if he is acquitted or the sentence is not severe enough, the Government will ignore the Courts ruling. It will violate the defendants right to be released and will imprison him anyway. You can not have it both ways.

It is so ridiculous and makes no sense at all. What the hell are Obama and Holder thinking when they announce to the world that if these guys get acquitted we will just hang on to them. WOW!! That is a wonderful justice system to be showcasing to the world.
I am so sick of these political shenanigans – that is exactly what this is all about – I hope the electorate rises up and votes them out big time starting with the 2010 congressional election.
